Action Inishowen is a Community Development Programme, funded by the Department of Social Community & Family Affairs on Lottery Funding. Action Inishowen was established in 1993 to concentrate on social development throughout the Inishowen peninsula. Although all the programmes in the C.D.P. have a number of essential core characteristics the projects involved have a wide variety of individual aims, activities and target groups depending on the particular needs of the area and the community that they serve. The target groups identified include Lone Parents, Long Term Unemployed, Elderly, Early School Leavers, Women, Pre-school Play Groups and recently, small holders.
